Why should I upgrade my NutshellMail MySpace account?

NutshellMail Support April 23, 2010

More Secure

The new version uses MySpace OAuth, so NutshellMail no longer needs to store your username and password. Instead, MySpace gives NutshellMail a fully revocable token that provides our system with limited access to your profile data. This method of providing permission matches our integrations with Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter .

Previously, users had to provide us their email address and password and even though this was encrypted and completely secure, it is no longer industry best practices with the advent of the OAuth standard.  In addition, it negates a lot of security concerns for NutshellMail since we never even see a user's password.  This way, we can worry less about security and spend more time bringing you the most useful NutshellMail digests we can design.
